Help conserve water by inspecting and repairing any leaking toilets and faucets.
- When washing dishes by hand, don't let the water run while rinsing. Fill one sink with wash water and the other with rinse water.
- Run your dishwasher only when they are full. You can save up to 1,000 gallons a month.
- Replace showerheads with lo-flow showerheads.
- Shorten your shower by a minute or two and you'll save up to 150 gallons per month.
- Replace older model toilets with new ultra-low-flush models.
- Check toilets for leaks. Drop a dye tablet or a teaspoon of food coloring in the tank. If color appears in the bowl after 15 minutes, replace the "flapper" valve.
- Designae one glass for yur drinking water each day. this will cu down the number of glasses to wash.
- Don't use running water to thaw food. Defrost food in refrigerator for water efficiency and food safety.
